FESTIVAL DIRECTOR'S AWARD OF RECOGNITION
Each year, the Festival Director chooses to recognize a film for "any reason he wants." This year, he wanted to recognize two distinct short films.

2025 Winners:
FRIED FISH & PLANTAIN, 
Directed by Paul Daniel Torres for crafting a well-crafted and unapologetically Torontonian story that is full of love and emotion.

FLY CATCHING, Directed by Nettle James for successfully a fully realized short film with a beginning, middle, and end while making audiences laugh - all in under a minute.
